Kimbell & Associates is a boutique healthcare legislative, regulatory, and policy consulting firm. Founded in 1998, the firm focuses on the executive and legislative branches of the U.S. federal government and specializes in providing strategic solutions to a select group of healthcare sector clients. The Government Affairs group provides lobbying and political consulting services that support core business goals and effectively advocate for the client’s interests. The Health Policy & Reimbursement Strategy Group provides coverage, coding, and payment advice and tactical support to manufacturers of innovative healthcare technologies, such as biopharmaceuticals and medical devices, and other healthcare industry organizations.
COMPENSATION:
This is an in-office position: Washington, DC
This is a paid internship ($22/hr+)
This is a full-time position (45+ hours/week)
GENERAL FUNCTIONS: Provide direct support to the President/CEO, Vice Presidents, and all other Government Affairs staff at Kimbell & Associates. The ideal candidate will have impeccable organization, interpersonal, and communication skills. Willingness to occasionally work after hours and complete small ad-hoc projects to maintain business continuity and operations is a must. This position requires attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Directly assisting the firm in all logistic and operations duties such as:
Provide daily operations and general office assistance in any and all tasks
Cover House/Senate Committee Hearings
Assisting in writing the weekly Government Affairs report on Mondays and Fridays
Writing bill summaries and memos of interest to clients
Assist in any client needs
Support the Chief Operating Officer as it relates to firm operations and logistics
File documents and receipts
Miscellaneous tasks whether personal or business from the President/CEO
Assist in projects related to Magnum Entertainment Group, Inc.
40 hours per week (full-time) + opportunities for overtime
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree (completed or in progress) or pursuing higher education
Excellent communication skills (oral and written), including ability to prepare high-quality, thoroughly proofed written work
Attention to detail, and organizational skills
Strong integrity, work ethic, and professionalism
Willingness to work in teams and coordinate closely with other firm employees
Experience with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
Ability to maintain a regular, predictable and timely attendance schedule, with the flexibility to work additional hours when necessary to perform the essential duties of the position such as attending functions and events that occur outside of the regular business day
