Keith Studdard rejoined Kimbell and Associates in 2014 and currently serves as Senior Vice President.
Before returning to the firm, Mr. Studdard spent two and a half years on Capitol Hill as Legislative Director to then-Representative Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), who served as Vice Chair of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, a member of the House Budget Committee, a founding member of the Republican Women's Policy Committee, a House Deputy Whip, and Vice-Chairman of the National Republican Congressional Committee. In that role, Keith was directly involved in the debate and negotiation of major health care legislation, including the Affordable Care Act, the Food and Drug Administration Safety and Innovation Act, and the Drug Quality and Security Act.
Prior to his time on Capitol Hill, Keith directed federal lobbying efforts for the American Osteopathic Association (AOA). As the organization's Director of Congressional Affairs and head lobbyist, he led AOA's advocacy through the debate, consideration, and passage of the Affordable Care Act. Before joining AOA's lobbying team, he spent the 2008 election cycle as Director of the Osteopathic Political Action Committee.
Keith began his Washington, D.C. career at K&A, where he spent two years as a government affairs associate, comptroller, and chief of staff to Mr. Kimbell. He has extensive experience in federal campaigns and political strategy, having worked on numerous presidential, Senate, and House campaigns over the past two decades. At the 2012 Republican National Convention in Tampa, Florida, he served as lead staff for the subcommittee overseeing health care, tort reform, education, and family issues in the drafting of the Republican Party Platform. As an undergraduate, he interned for then-Senator Trent Lott (R-MS).
Keith is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of the University of Mississippi, with a degree in mathematics and chemistry.
