Kelsey Carlson
Kelsey Carlson is a Government Affairs Manager at Kimbell and Associates. Prior to joining the firm in 2023, Kelsey spent four and a half years in Washington D.C. in various policy, communications, national security, and consulting capacities. Most recently, she was a Strategic Communications Consultant at Deloitte Consulting for an Intelligence Community client, where she led agency-wide communications campaigns and served as a strategic advisor to SES-level clients.
Kelsey also comes to Kimbell and Associates with experience working for a White House Deputy Chief of Staff from 2019-2021. In that capacity, she obtained a TS/SCI with a Counterintelligence Polygraph security clearance for a role at the National Security Council and National Economic Council, where she coordinated a campaign strategy for the United States’ nomination for Secretary-General of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). Kelsey also served as a Policy Advisor to the White House Deputy Chief of Staff on workforce policy and contributed to a White Paper on Interoperable Learning Records, coordinating with 50+ organizations and agencies. From 2018-2019, Kelsey started her career as a political appointee at the U.S. Department of Commerce in the Office of the White House Liaison and the Office of Public Affairs.
Kelsey was born and raised in Richmond, Virginia, and graduated from the University of Virginia where she was a member of the varsity women’s soccer team and obtained a degree of Public Policy and Leadership. She and her husband, Buckley, have a golden retriever named Karl and live in Washington D.C. When away from her desk, Kelsey can be found at a workout class, skiing, hiking, and cooking for friends.
