Katherine Sistrunk

Katherine Sistrunk is a Manager of Health & Reimbursement Policy at Kimbell & Associates, focusing on advising clients in health and reimbursement policy matters.
Prior to joining the firm, Katherine worked as a Registered Nurse in the Medical Intensive Care Unit at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, a large academic medical center in Washington, DC, where she earned her Critical Care Registered Nurse certification. Her clinical and patient-care experience provides her with a unique perspective for interpreting health and reimbursement policy matters and in working with clients.
Katherine's prior policy experience includes serving as a Public Policy Intern at the American Medical Group Association in Alexandria, VA, where she supported the public policy team in meetings on the Hill, worked closely on policy matters pertaining to HHS and CMS, and aided in launching a grassroots network to allow AMGA members to advocate for key issues with policymakers directly.
Katherine graduated from the University of Mississippi with a Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy Leadership and minors in Spanish and Society & Health. She was a member of the Trent Lott Leadership Institute and Sally McDonnell Barksdale Honors College, with her senior thesis focusing on vaccine policy. Most recently, she graduated from the Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing, where she earned her Master of Science in Nursing.
In her spare time, Katherine enjoys traveling, exploring the city, attending workout classes, trying new restaurants with friends, and being an active book club participant.
